At the Well (formerly Wide Open Worship) started with a splash this weekend! Over 30 young adults from all over the DC-Metro area came out to praise and worship the Lord Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit! Afterwards most of us went out for food (Denny's is a favorite) or down to the Quincy House coffeehouse.
The Lord led us in prayer to Nehemiah chapter 9 which chronicles the story of the Israelites return from Exile and the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem. The Israelites where being attacked and ridiculed by the surrounding inhabitants of Judea who didn't want them to finish rebuilding the walls. The sense we had was that the Lord was telling us that At The Well is his Jerusalem, a place dedicated to his praise, and that the world (and the enemy) doesn't want us to succeed. So we need to be steadfast in our prayer and continue to clothe ourselves with the armor of God! (Eph 6)
